Glacier National Park

Within this world, there are hundreds of thousands of cool things, objects, landscapes, and places that a person can find. What I like to focus on is the wonderful landscapes and formations made by nature that we can find right here in the U.S. My past blogs have featured unique formations like Crater Lake, or the Redwood Trees, or Old Faithful and the geysers. You can find more about those on my previous blogs.

Glacier National Park is located in Montana right on the border of Canada. The park is named for the tens of glaciers that formed the park and can be found in the park. Currently, there are 26 glaciers that are still in the park today, but they are slowly starting to shrink and become large pieces of ice instead of glaciers. Glaciers are giant slabs and chunks of ice mixed with water, sand, and rocks that slowly move their large mass across the earth.

The park not only houses glaciers but was carved out by the behemoths sliding through. The glaciers took the surrounding mountains and hills and carved their way through like a knife through butter. These valleys and mountains house dozens of different species of animals and plants that have sprouted in the wake of the glaciers and the erosion that they have caused. There are a variety of different animals from bats, bears, beavers, Bighorn Sheep, and quite a few different types of cats. They are especially known for having hundreds of bird species, the two most important being the Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles.

There are a great many things to do at Glacier National Park. There are hundreds of miles of trails spread throughout the 1,000,000 square acres of land for people to explore. There are 13 different designated campgrounds and a couple of areas that people can do some backcountry camping. During the day there are guided tours, fishing locations, boats for rent, horse trails, and more. You will have fun filled days to enjoy your time and have a break.

Glacier National park is truly a sight to behold and bask in the beauty of nature. If you ever have the time, try visiting. Have a nice day!
